About Jessica
Thank you for visiting my profile!
I have a passion for learning, and more specifically, learning languages. I am a native English speaker, but am fluent in French and can speak a bit of Turkish. At my day job, I advise English or French adult second language learners. This experience has given me a good understanding of how adults learn and what strategies work. I have also worked in government communications for many years and can provide lessons on academic or professional writing, speech writing, creative writing, etc.
I consider myself an empathetic person and enjoy getting to know my students. I believe learning should be accessible to all. Our world can be quite heavy at times, especially lately, and I would like to connect with others, help them learn a new skill, and in turn, learn from them and their life experiences.
I love hiking and the outdoors, and would never pass up a chance to travel!

I ensure my approach aligns with your learning goals. First, we establish your learning objectives and discuss your learning style. I try to split my classes in 3 parts: conversational/oral practice, grammar and writing, and media. Depending on your learning objectives, we can alter my approach to fit your needs.
I am very passionate about learning a second language as an adult, and understand the challenges it can bring. My experience working with adults learning a second language gives me a different perspective than many other teachers; it can be hard, but ensuring my teaching style aligns with your learning style is key. I will ensure my lessons are tailored to you.
These lessons are for adult learners looking to learn or improve their English. Any and all levels are welcome.
