About Marley
My background in teaching is in introductory level French. In my last position I was responsible for holding weekly TA sessions for two elementary French courses at the undergraduate level. I also covered for the professor and taught those classes when absences occurred. Furthermore, once a week I provided individual pronunciation sessions for a range of levels.
My interest in teaching comes out of my own story of learning French. Because of the passion and belief of my professors and TAs, I was able to boost my confidence in speaking a foreign language and reach my current day level of fluency.

My teaching techniques are based in the style of the Rassias method; focusing heavily on speaking and listening from the first day of class. This style relies on techniques to make the language feel natural/intuitive like rapid-fire language drills, "living" the language (acting real life scenarios), and high empathy for mistakes.
A typical lesson plan is organized with:
1. Warmup (ice-breaker, personal questions)
2. Overview of what will be presented
3. Language Drills (grammar, vocab, etc.)
4. Language practice activities
