About Hollie
I am a passionate and approachable tutor with a strong academic background in Psychology, Criminology and Social Sciences.
I hold a Master’s degree (MSc) in Organised Crime, Terrorism and Security from the University of Essex, alongside a First Class Bachelor’s degree (BSc Hons) in Psychology and Criminology. I also studied Psychology and Sociology at A Level, giving me a strong understanding of the GCSE and A Level curriculum pathways.
My academic background has provided me with extensive knowledge of psychological theories, research methods, human behaviour and critical thinking skills, which I aim to make engaging and accessible for students.
Alongside tutoring, I work professionally within the criminal justice sector, which has further developed my communication, mentoring and supportive working skills. My professional and academic background allows me to bring real-world insight into psychology and criminology topics while maintaining a patient, structured and encouraging approach to learning.
I understand that every student learns differently, so I tailor lessons to individual learning styles, confidence levels and goals. My approach focuses on building understanding, confidence and exam technique in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Whether a student needs targeted support with specific topics, help preparing for exams, or ongoing tuition to strengthen their confidence, I aim to create lessons that are structured, engaging and personalised to their needs.
