About Rachel
I am a MA Broadcast and Current Affairs student with a first class undergraduate degree in History (obtained from the University of Southampton in 2019). I have been a voluntary student support adviser and peer mentor for younger students, giving me experience with coaching the best out of people. It is also evidence of my open approach with those who are perhaps slightly nervous with new people.

I can teach up to A-Level in specialised historical topics and English texts (it will be up to the student to provide me with information in advance of which areas or texts they need assistance with so I can adequately prepare useful lessons. I like the student to come up with key areas they need help with - there is no point in me teaching them something they already feel confident about. I prefer virtual lessons over email or Skype and am happy to receive practice essays for marking (however, it must be noted that a minimum of 4 days must be allowed for such marking to take place). If the student is requiring specific exam preparation they must provide me with which exam board they are working with. I am very good at implementing revision tools/timetables so if you/your child is looking for assistance in how to revise, I can come up with tailored solutions to your needs.

Details
I operate on a trust basis. If a lesson needs to be cancelled at short notice I understand, but please try and give 24 hours notice as a minimum. If lessons are repeatedly cancelled by the student without legitimate cause (i.e. if it happens more than three times within a month) I will start charging for the lesson. Please note that any marking will be charged by the half hour.
