I am an author and editor, a teacher and world traveler. I have been teaching and mentoring more than forty years and have helped thousands of students reach their goals; four out of five of my writing students published their book, for example.

I look at each student as having gifts already; I seek to draw those gifts out. I teach a student to ask if a thing is true; if so, is it important; and if so, what might that student choose to do about that. I am much more interested in the progress a student can make than in how they measure up against an arbitrary standard.
