About Tyler
Tyler is a provincially acclaimed sound designer, engineer and technician, who has just recently taken his steps into the world of the arts with much success. At 16 years old, he has taken home numerous awards from different festivals and from his home school, Southwood Secondary. Citations include a Mira Award for Individual Exceptional Achievement in Sound Design (NTS Provincial Showcase; 2019), Award of Distinction in Sound Design (NTS District Festival; 2019), Award of Outstanding Achievement for Trailer Design (NTS Provincial Showcase; 2019) and an Award of Excellence in Tech (Southwood Secondary; 2019), alongside numerous academic and musical achievement awards. Theatrical credits in sound, lighting and video trailer design include #MeToo (Southwood Drama; 2017), Galt Ghost Walk (Southwood Drama; recurring), Annabel Lee (Southwood Drama; 2018), Outfest KW (Page 1 Entertainment; 2018), The Lion King (KW Youth Theatre; 2019) and Sometimes I Look Up To The Sky (Southwood Drama; 2019). When he's not locked away for hours drafting cue sheets, you can find Tyler biking, filing taxes, playing the drums or attempting low-level social interactions.

I teach in a "build-to-the-top" manner, starting low and going slow until students understand. This methodology has resulted in successful training for some of my fellow peers, and it continues to work in every field I teach in outside of school.
