About Lilly
I am a dedicated Guitar tutor with 14 years of teaching experience, and I have had the privilege of teaching around 300 students from High School, College, and adult age groups. My journey as a tutor began with a simple goal—to help learners enjoy music while building strong technical skills. Over the years, this goal has shaped my teaching style into a blend of patience, structure, and creativity. My teaching philosophy is based on the belief that every student can become a confident guitarist with the right guidance and support. I focus on building fundamentals like finger positioning, rhythm control, chord transitions, and strumming patterns, while also encouraging students to explore their own musical interests. Whether a student wants to learn classical melodies, acoustic songs, or modern guitar techniques, I tailor my lessons to match their goals and learning style. One of my achievements is helping several beginner-level learners progress to performing in school events, college shows, and small community programmes. I feel proud when students gain the confidence to express themselves through music. I also use simple explanations, real-life musical examples, and step-by-step practice methods so learners never feel overwhelmed. My aim is to make guitar learning enjoyable, goal-oriented, and meaningful. I look forward to guiding more students and helping them discover the joy of playing guitar.

My teaching approach for Guitar is built on clear communication, adapting to each student’s learning style, and helping every learner understand music in a practical and enjoyable way. I believe that every student learns differently, so I adjust my lessons to match their comfort, speed, and style. Whether a student prefers visual learning, hands-on practice, or step-by-step explanations, I make sure the lessons feel natural and stress-free. I focus on building strong fundamentals such as posture, hand positions, finger control, rhythm, and chord transitions. To make learning easier, I use real-life examples from songs students already know or enjoy. This helps them connect guitar concepts with everyday music. I also include simple case studies, like how a famous guitarist developed a technique, or how different genres use chords in unique ways. These examples help students understand why techniques matter and how they can use them creatively. My sessions include guided practice, listening tasks, and small weekly goals. I teach both acoustic and electric guitar, along with related subjects like Music Theory, Ear Training, Chord Progressions, Basic Composition, Tablature Reading, Song Interpretation, and Rhythm Studies. This allows students to grow not just as guitar players, but as well-rounded musicians. I also encourage students to express their own musical interests. If they enjoy pop, classical, rock, blues, or film music, I design lessons around those genres. I maintain open communication so students can freely share their doubts and progress. Each lesson ends with feedback that helps them improve with confidence. My overall goal is to help students build technical skill, musical understanding, and creative expression. I guide them step by step, using clear communication, practical examples, and flexible teaching methods that support their unique journey in music.
