My name is Charlie, I am twenty-two and I am a graduate of History with a bachelors from the University of Bristol. I am currently applying for a masters in Intellectual History at the University of Cambridge after performing well at the undergraduate level. My dream is to become a historian! I love sport, reading, and travelling. My favourite country I have visited is Brazil!

My approach to English and History is similar, with lessons generally running an hour or more depending on the student and what the parents desire. Firstly, I try to interest the student in the subject, by combining the syllabus with my own knowledge. By captivating students, they memorise far better what they have been taught. This side of learning is very conversational and often I will ask students to read in advance of the class so as to facilitate these conversations.
Secondly, I instruct students on how to approach exams, be that at A-Level or GCSE. Both humanities and arts exams can be seen as tricky and subjective, but through my own experience and that of tutoring at a local level, I have found techniques that correspond with what the markers are looking for. This side of learning is complemented by consistently attempting past papers.
