About Caila
Actor, Singer, Dancer, Playwright, and Theatre Coach from Miami, FL and an Alumna of the Miami Arts Charter School, New World School of the Arts, and The Boston University School of Theatre.
Caila is an interdisciplinary storyteller and collaborator, who delves into theatrical narratives with immense passion and vulnerability. Caila's artistic work is a constant investigation of what excites people to think and feel.

My teaching method is flexible and will shift and change as needed throughout the learning process! Every student is unique and deserves a coach who can bend to meet their learning needs, and I am so excited to be that person! I have studied the acting techniques of Meisner, Uta Hagen, Stanislavski, Chekhov, etc. and I incorporate all of these techniques and more into my lessons. I have a background in the Voice techniques of late Kristin Linklater through the teachings of Paula Langton and Christine Hamell from the Boston University School of Theatre and I have studied Laban, Viewpoonts, and the movement techniques of Anne Bogart from my wonderful teacher and mentor, Yo-EL Cassell, Head of Movement at the BUSOT. I am a working actress in the live theatre scene of South Florida, so not only can I help my students improve in their art form, I can also provide them foundational knowledge of the business side of theatre so they can succeed in all aspects of this industry!

Caila Katz is an amazing musical theater teacher! She’s so caring and empathetic with her students, and she makes everyone feel comfortable no matter their skill level. Whether kids are new to acting/dancing/singing or more experienced, she knows how to help them grow and have fun. On top of that, Caila is a professional musical theatre actress, so she really understands the craft and brings so much passion and expertise to every class.
She was totes magotes amazing. Straight up and down and all around. She taught me everything I know and I honestly know a lot now because of it. She got me into Carnegie.
