About Courtney
I’m an American university graduate who spent three years living and studying in Rome, where Italian became a part of my everyday life. Because I learned the language as an English speaker myself, I understand the challenges beginners face and how intimidating it can feel at first.
I’m patient, encouraging, and passionate about making Italian feel approachable rather than overwhelming. I especially enjoy working with complete beginners and helping them build a strong foundation and the confidence to start speaking Italian in real-life situations.

My lessons are designed for complete beginners who are just starting to learn Italian. I focus on building a strong foundation through everyday vocabulary, pronunciation, simple grammar, and basic conversation, while keeping lessons relaxed and easy to follow.
A typical lesson will introduce a new topic, practice useful words and phrases, and then use them in simple conversations and exercises. Having learned Italian while living in Rome, I understand what can be confusing for English speakers and can explain things in a way that feels approachable and practical. My goal is to help students build confidence and start using Italian from their very first lessons!
