About Annie
I recently graduated from Virginia Tech in May 2026, where I developed strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills through both my academic work and involvement in a wide range of student and professional experiences. Throughout university, I worked in highly people-oriented environments that strengthened my ability to communicate clearly, adapt to different personalities and learning styles, and create comfortable, supportive interactions.
In addition to my academic background, I have international experience studying and traveling abroad, which gave me a deeper appreciation for cultural exchange and language learning. These experiences taught me how important patience, confidence, and encouragement are when communicating in a second language.
As a tutor, I strive to create a professional but relaxed environment where students feel comfortable practicing English without fear of making mistakes. I am dependable, organized, approachable, and genuinely passionate about helping others improve their confidence and fluency in English.
I especially enjoy working with students who want to improve conversational English, pronunciation, and natural communication skills for travel, school, work, or everyday life.

My teaching approach focuses on helping students develop confidence, fluency, and natural communication skills in English through supportive and personalized lessons. I believe language learning is most effective when students feel comfortable speaking openly, asking questions, and learning through real conversation rather than memorization alone.
Lessons are adapted to each student’s goals, level, and interests. A typical lesson may include conversational practice, pronunciation and vocabulary development, real-time grammar correction, and discussion of practical everyday topics such as travel, academics, work, culture, interviews, or social situations. I aim to create engaging lessons that feel both productive and relaxed.
I recently graduated from Virginia Tech in May 2026, and I am currently spending the summer preparing for a future opportunity in Europe centered around communication, cultural exchange, and teaching English. Through both my academic experiences and time spent abroad, I discovered how much I genuinely enjoy connecting with people from different backgrounds and helping others feel more confident expressing themselves in English.
As a native English speaker with international experience, I especially enjoy helping students improve conversational fluency and sound more natural and confident in everyday English. My communication style is patient, encouraging, and highly adaptable to different learning styles and comfort levels.
My lessons are ideal for beginner to intermediate learners, students preparing to study or travel abroad, individuals looking to improve spoken English, and anyone wanting to practice natural American English in a supportive environment.
