About Matthew
I am currently working within the Higher Education sector in London at a top 10 Russel Group university. My current role sees me looking after a cohort of 200 masters level students.
I have extensive experience with studying Economics to masters level at one of the most academically rigorous institutions in the country. My study of Economics has been all encompassing, having studies Microeconomics, Macroeconomics and Econometrics (Statistics) to an advanced MSc level. I have a deep understanding of what is required from students at the post-16 level, having achieved an A at A-Level (Edexcel Economics A, 2017).
I have undertaken basic DBS checks as of May 2023. I am happy and willing to provide these documents when asked.

I have extensive experience with working with students throughout my professional and academic life. I started working closely with students at the end of my first year of undergraduate study at the University of Leicester. Since then, I have undertaken many paid and voluntary roles around the University campus. I have also acted as a mentor for a South London grammar school during my time at St Andrews, offering advice to students wishing to undertake further degree courses.
As part of my experience working within Higher Education, I have developed an approach that focuses on fully understanding the students needs. Each student has a different way in which they absorb information and as a tutor, it is imperative for me to fully understand this so I can provide the highest level of service,
Towards assessment periods, such as the summer term, I will focus on exam/assessment practice. For Maths this will be completing many sample questions and providing timely feedback to this. For Economics, timed essay practice is important to allow for the highest achievable marks in a paper.
I am also happy to dedicate time to assist with university applications for students wishing to attend a higher-education institution.
