About Maria
I am a university student at a Russel Group University studying Anthropology and Politics. I studied English Lit, Spanish and Psychology at A-level and gained two As and an A*. I have worked with children before, having taught a young boy with autism how to speak and write and therefore, am extremely patient. I was also Deputy Head Girl at my grammar school and so have worked with children in the years below me and am friendly and approachable. I am in my first year of university at the University of Birmingham. I am studying a heavily based essay subject and have great writing skills as well as achieving an A in a-level English Literature, and of course, have GCSEs in English Lit and Lang.

I would describe my teaching method as engaging. I am very hands-on and helpful, however always allow the student to work through questions and problems first and encourage my students to think of their own interpretations and answers, but if needed, with some guidance from me. I believe this helps in exams as of course tutors won't be there with them, so in my opinion, it is wrong to just hand the answer to somebody. I shall be giving lessons from KS2 up to GCSE. I am friendly and approachable and extremely patient, I am there for the student in every sense and always create a great rapport with my students, and am someone they can rely on.
