About Helena
I have been fortunate to get a good education and wish to share my knowledge of the architecture disciplines with my students to contribute to raising great future architects, landscape architects + urban designers. The built environment is everyone's habitat, so designs for it must be ethical, equitable, sustainable + aesthetically fit to contribute positively to their specific sites. Honesty + originality are essential in creating a design: it can be influenced by prior work by others, but never copy it. Nor should you second-guess what the client would like, but instead ask questions + bring your own vision of resolving the client's issues into your work.

My teaching method is based on recognising + supporting individual potential + building self-confidence + the ability to defend student work relying on initial research + analysis for the project. Also will assess proposed designs + graphics to improve output. Typical lesson length: 2 hours.
