About Helen
I have been working at a studio from a young age and have recently been accepted to study art at a college in Washington, DC. While I am still learning myself, I have a high level of skill with graphite and charcoal mediums. I have worked on everything from still-lifes to figure drawings and portraits. My understanding of artistic concepts is quite advanced and thorough. Not only am I a classical artist, but I also work in digital mediums such as photography and digital drawing.

- I believe mastering the classical style is an important foundation for all forms of art so my methods closely emulate those of the old masters. I will be teaching both practical and theoretical art, along with studies of various masters from different eras.
- The lessons are flexible depending on a student's level of ability and understanding. Students with more advanced comprehension can be moved into a faster track, more focused and detailed set, while those who struggle can be provided with lots of foundational, beginner lessons to train their hand and eye.
Depending on the weekly agenda, a student would have lessons ranging from still-life studies, self-portraits, and figure drawing to gradient maps and shape and shadow translation. Periodic studies of the masters will also be a part of the class.
- While I do provide a basic skeleton structure for lessons, every student has needs and interests. I wanted to put together a plan that would allow for individual creativity while building up student skills, adjusting and fine-tuning wherever the student needs it.
- My classes are for middle school to high school age students who are interested in learning the drawing skills taught in classical art.
