About Amy
I have been teaching art in a public school for 32 years and art has been my passion since I was a child. I am an artist myself with a vast portfolio including painting, pencil and charcoal drawings, printmaking, collage and mixed media. I love the creative process and how it can be meditative and healing. I have taught classes ranging from basic drawing and other 2D media to pottery and crafts and up to and including AP Studio Art. I am knowledgeable in the area of art college portfolio requirements as well as career opportunities in the arts. I would love to share my passion for art with you!

My high school students will tell you that I foster a calm and safe environment that encourages them to take risks in order to improve their skills and develop their creativity. Creating should be about experimentation and play. My favorite thing about teaching is watching my students exceed their own expectations.
