About Thomas
Tom Richner is currently back on The Simpsons primarily as a Storyboard Artist, but also as a layout artist and Assistant Director. Tom has contributed to over 100 episodes spanning from seasons 10-16 and 29 to today.

Tom was an Associate Professor of Animation at the Columbus College of Art and Design from 2004 to 2017. He specialized in traditional hand-drawn animation and taught a number of animation, storyboarding and film design courses.
In 2008, Tom founded Cap City Studios, an animation production entity that draws upon the local animation talent in Columbus, Ohio to produce larger scale animation pieces. The studio has produced some commercials and also an animated pitch piece for a television series. He also works as an independent freelance animation artist on various projects as they come up. He most recently completed an 11-minute short animated film that screened in 19 festivals around the world. This link to this film is included below.
Tom holds an MFA in Animation from the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television, as well as a BFA in Fine Arts from Denison University in Granville, Ohio.
