About Jarrett
I received my bachelor’s degree (BA) in Experimental Psychology from the University of South Carolina in December 2006. My studies at this university provided me with the research design and statistical analysis skills necessary for research I have used on a daily basis. In addition, my coursework focused on perceptual issues which has taught me that the world relative to each individual is unique and distinctly plastic which is a critical aspect of the learning experience.
I received my master’s degree from Eastern University in 2010 with studies in clinical/counseling psychology in which a focus was provided on addictive and traumatic populations and how to increase well-being, recovery, and most of all hope.
My time at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine gave me the full range of insight from neuropsychological perspectives of learning and behavior. These programs taught me to understand the underlying issues behind perception and learning and how to integrate this in educational practice. I can advise across the academic and developmental lifespan from High School to Doctoral Programs. Because of my background in neuropsychology, I am able to integrate your specific learning style into the tutoring sessions. Tutoring sessions would be collaborative and your personal goals are reassessed each session. A typical lesson would include agenda setting, review of your work between sessions and a plan for the upcoming week and time in between sessions.
