About Kendra
My name is Kendra and I am a Portland native who enjoys spending time at home with my cat and a good movie. I have been working with kids for over 10 years in regards to tutoring but also as a care provider. I have a passion for providing kids with the necessary tools and skills that can help them feel confident and excited for their future.
As a student I benefitted from that one on one time with a teacher or tutor and I like to make sure that my students feel proud of the work and effort they put in and not discouraged for seeking extra help.
I believe that making sure every student I work with knows that I provide a safe environment with an open line of communication to ask questions and feel comfortable in every session.

I feel as though my teaching approach is unique because I make each lesson plan unique and personalized to fit that students specific needs. I prefer to get to know my student and what their goals are so I can better assist the areas they would like to improve. I pride my self in having patience as a tutor but also the right amount of motivation to push each student to their full potential.
I want to make sure that my student looks forward to coming and working with me rather than feeling like it is a task.
My lessons are catered mostly to elementary level students and occasionally middle school aged students.
