About Nancy
I have been tutoring or teaching students for two decades, either at a classical homeschool consortium of tutors or in a more traditional classroom setting. I have more recently focused on Latin and Civics, but am also working individually with students in language arts. Teaching Latin especially, has resulted in an increased specialization of my skills to teach language, grammar, writing, and reading.

The goal of my lessons is not just to learn for the day, the week, or the month, but to learn how to master the material in a way that students will learn and remember for years. Growing life long learners who develop a true love of learning and the skills to understand concepts thoroughly and critically remains the core of my approach. Specifically, students at any grade level will mature in their knowledge of language, whether cobbling together a beautifully crafted passage, translating Latin flawlessly, or parsing the grammar of any sentence. All this is done in an encouraging and positive atmosphere.
