About Socrateia

I didn’t arrive to teaching acting from theory alone. I came through full training and repetition inside two different drama schools, Acting Out Drama School and Traga Drama School, where acting wasn’t treated as something abstract, but something physical, immediate, and constantly tested.

In Acting Out Drama School, I learned discipline: how to build a scene properly, how to strip away what is unnecessary, how to stop performing “emotion” and start working with intention. In Traga Drama School, I learned to break that discipline open again, how to let instinct lead, how to take risks without overthinking, and how to stay alive inside a performance instead of locking it into something controlled or safe.

That combination is what shapes my teaching now. I don’t teach acting as a fixed method or a set of tricks. I teach it as a process of finding what is already real in you and learning how to use it on stage or in front of a camera without hiding behind technique.

When I work with actors, I focus on clarity over decoration. What does the character actually want? What is stopping them? What changes in them from the beginning to the end of the scene? These are the questions that matter more than “looking right” or doing something impressive.

I also don’t separate technique from emotion. If something feels false, we don’t cover it up, we go back and rebuild it. Acting only works when the performer is actually present, not when they are trying to appear correct.

My role as a teacher is not to shape everyone into the same kind of actor, but to help each person find what is specific and honest in their own way of performing. Some actors need structure. Some need permission to stop controlling everything. I work with both.

Choosing me as an acting teacher means working with someone who understands both control and chaos in performance and knows when each one is needed.

Choosing me as an acting teacher means choosing a process that prioritizes growth, honesty, and real performance over imitation or surface-level technique. My approach to teaching acting is rooted in the belief that every performer already contains the emotional truth of a character inside them—the job of a teacher is to help unlock it, not impose something artificial on top.

I focus on building actors from the inside out. Instead of teaching rigid gestures or fixed interpretations, I guide students to understand motivation, subtext, and emotional logic. When an actor understands why a character behaves a certain way, the performance becomes natural and believable rather than forced. This creates actors who are not dependent on copying styles, but capable of creating original, truthful work in any role.

Another key aspect of my teaching is attention to individuality. No two actors are the same, and I do not treat them as if they should be. Some students are highly expressive, others are restrained; some rely on instinct, others on analysis. My role is to refine what already exists rather than erase it. This helps actors develop confidence in their own artistic identity, which is essential for long-term growth in the industry.

I also emphasize practical adaptability. Acting does not happen in isolation—it happens in collaboration with directors, writers, and other performers. I train actors to respond to direction without losing emotional continuity, to remain flexible without becoming inconsistent, and to stay present in unpredictable performance environments. This kind of adaptability is what separates trained actors from working actors.

Finally, my teaching encourages risk-taking in a safe environment. Many actors hesitate out of fear of doing it “wrong.” I create a space where experimentation is not only allowed but expected. Mistakes become part of the learning process rather than something to avoid. This leads to performances that are more alive, unpredictable, and human.

Choosing me as an acting teacher means choosing someone who is not simply teaching performance techniques, but shaping actors who understand truth, presence, and emotional intelligence on stage and screen.
