About Bernie
Hello! I’m Mr. Brooks — a Master Educator with over 25 years of experience teaching K–8 students across public, private, and charter schools. I design and teach classes that blend core academic skills (like reading, writing, and math) with music, performance, and creative self-expression. On Superprof I offer unique classes such as rhythm-based math, storytelling through vocal performance, and social-emotional learning through songwriting and creative journaling.
I hold a Master of Education from DePaul University and am certified in both general education and special education instruction. Over my decades of teaching, I’ve led inclusive classrooms, built original cross-curricular programs, and worked with students of all learning styles, including neurodiverse learners and those with IEPs. As the founder of B.A. Productions Network, I’ve mentored youth through arts-based education programs that celebrate individuality and foster confidence.
At the heart of my teaching is a simple but powerful belief: every child deserves to feel seen, heard, and celebrated. I build each class to be a safe and encouraging space where learners can explore ideas, express themselves, and grow at their own pace.
And for something fun? I’m also a professional musician and performer who sings, has played percussion and appeared on TV shows(like CBS’s Let’s Make a Deal) and live stages across the country. I bring that same energy, creativity, and joy into every classroom. Let’s make learning unforgettable together!
