About Denise
My name is Denise Toogood, I have been teaching for over 30 years in one way or another. I have taught children 0-12 years and I have taught adults, young adults, and young adults with disabilities. I have also taught students with a variety of barriers to learning leading to disengagement from school. My passion is assisting people from all walks of life, to achieve whatever their goals are, to the best of their ability. Every person, child or adult, deserves the opportunity to the highest quality education, I would like to be the teacher to provide that.

I hold a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) and have over 30 years' experience teaching 0 - 12-year-olds. I have spent the last 6 years teaching adults, young adults, and young adults with disabilities to learn to read and write. I aim to create an engaging, dynamic, and effective online learning environment that fosters student participation, critical thinking, and deeper learning. I do this through tailoring lessons to the individual needs and learning speeds of students. This can involve providing different resources for different learners, or using adaptive learning tools that adjust the content difficulty based on a student's progress. I plan my lesson content around the needs of the students, including the length of each lesson.
