About Ria

I’m Ria, a Psychology student at the Australian National University with a strong interest in how people learn, think, and communicate. I also attended Radford College and achieved an 83.15 ATAR after Year 12 through BSSS. My background as a Lifeline Crisis Supporter has strengthened my ability to listen actively, explain ideas clearly, and support others through challenges. I bring patience, structure, and empathy to every lesson, creating a calm environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence. Alongside my studies, I’ve gained experience in customer-facing and volunteer roles that have helped me develop strong communication and organizational skills. I’m passionate about helping students understand concepts deeply, improve their study habits, and feel more capable in their academic work.

My teaching style is supportive, structured, and student‑centred. I focus on breaking down complex ideas into clear, manageable steps and adapting each lesson to the student’s learning style. I use a combination of:
- Guided explanation to build understanding of key concepts
- Active practice through examples, questions, and discussion
- Study‑skill integration (note‑taking, planning, exam strategies)
- Real‑world applications to help students connect theory to everyday situations
- Regular check‑ins to ensure the student feels confident and supported

Typical Lesson Length
Most lessons run for 60 minutes, which allows enough time to cover content, practise skills, and review progress.
