About Macey
I was a teacher for 7 years, working in both in-person and virtual classrooms, and I also had the privilege of coaching basketball. Those experiences taught me not only how to teach content, but how to encourage, motivate, and connect with students on a personal level. I’m a lifelong learner who truly enjoys discovering new things—and my favorite part of teaching is seeing that same spark of curiosity light up in my students. Some of the most rewarding moments come when a student is struggling, and together we work through the challenge until that “lightbulb moment” happens. Watching them realize they are capable, confident, and equipped to succeed is what drives my passion for teaching every day.

About My Tutoring Style
I believe getting to know each student is the key to helping them succeed. Every learner is unique, so I take time to understand their interests, strengths, and challenges in order to present information in a way that connects with them. My approach blends techniques that engage multiple senses—visual, auditory, and hands-on practice—because I’ve found this helps students retain information and build confidence.
What Sets Me Apart
I specialize in working with students in grades 4–8, particularly those who may be struggling or need support bridging academic gaps. My goal is not only to help them catch up, but also to spark curiosity and make learning feel approachable and rewarding.
Typical Lesson Plan
Each lesson begins with a quick check-in to see how the student is feeling and where they need support. From there, I introduce the material in a way that fits their learning style, whether that’s through guided practice, discussion, visuals, or interactive activities. We wrap up with a review to reinforce key concepts and set small, achievable goals for next time.

My lessons are designed for upper elementary and middle school students who may need extra support in strengthening foundational skills, closing gaps, or gaining confidence in their learning journey.
