About Poppy
As an English tutor with 4 years of experience, I’ve learned that the best way to teach reading is through joy and discovery. I hold a Bachelor of Science in English Language and Professional Writing, and I use that background to create thoughtful, engaging lessons. Children’s literature is at the heart of my teaching. I use picture books, storytelling, and creative play to help young learners connect with words. My approach supports phonological awareness and early reading comprehension through fun and repetition. I work closely with emergent readers and early elementary students who are just beginning their reading journey. Every story we share becomes a tool for language growth. I love helping children hear sounds, recognize patterns, and express ideas through stories. Each lesson aims to build both skill and imagination. I want reading to feel like a door opening to endless worlds. Together, we’ll explore those worlds through English and wonder.
