About the lesson

I've been teaching music for twenty years and Japanese for five years. I love to teach enthusiastic students of all ages. Whether you're writing an essay for your music GSCE or A-level or dipping your toes into the waters of Japanese language and culture, I can help you to understand the key ideas and principles.

I am kind, patient and have a zany sense of humour. I expect students to try their best and not to give up easily. I encourage students to use their imaginations and to find creative ways to take their learning forward.

I have a PGCE in adult education, a PhD in music, and have passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test N2 while living in Japan. My teaching experience includes working in Japanese schools as an English teacher, teaching adult education courses in Japanese language and culture, teaching music and Japanese to children and teenagers as a face-to-face tutor, and lecturing in music at two universities.
