My Approach as a Piano Tutor --
I combine solid classical technique with a flexible, student-centered approach that keeps learning engaging. My goal is to help students not just play the piano, but truly understand music — building skills that allow them to perform with confidence and expression.
Teaching Method & Techniques
Foundation First: Emphasis on posture, hand position, and efficient fingering to prevent bad habits.
Layered Learning: Start with rhythm and note reading, then add dynamics, phrasing, and pedal work.
Ear Training & Theory: Integrated into lessons so students can connect what they play to how music works.
Repertoire Variety: Classical, contemporary, and student-requested pieces to keep motivation high.
Step-by-Step Mastery: Break down complex passages into manageable practice segments.
Typical Lesson Plan (45–60 minutes)
Warm-Up (5–10 min) – Technical exercises, scales, arpeggios, or Hanon patterns.
Review & Feedback (10–15 min) – Go over previous assignments, highlight progress, and refine details.
New Material (15–20 min) – Introduce a new piece or section, work on sight-reading and interpretation.
Music Theory & Ear Work (5–10 min) – Short, integrated activities to improve overall musicianship.
