About Annalise
I am a dedicated piano teacher with 9 years of experience and an Advanced Diploma in Piano Performance. My teaching style is active, expressive, and comprehensive, designed to engage students at every level, from beginners to aspiring professionals.
I focus on creating lessons tailored to each student’s goals, strengths, and learning style. Technique, theory, and musicality are all integrated into every session to ensure balanced and thorough development. I also weave in music history and stylistic context to deepen understanding and appreciation of each piece.
Creativity and expression are central to my approach. Students are encouraged to explore improvisation, personal interpretation, and compositional ideas alongside traditional repertoire. I prioritise building confidence, performance skills, and a lasting passion for music.

I take a student-centred approach to teaching piano, focusing on building musicality, technique, and confidence at every level. My lessons are designed to be flexible, exploring a wide range of genres including classical, jazz, pop, funk, soul, and R&B.
Each lesson is tailored to the student’s goals and interests, allowing for individualised learning and steady progress. I encourage creative exploration, improvisation, and personal expression to make music learning enjoyable and meaningful.
I focus on developing strong fundamentals such as finger technique, rhythm, phrasing, and dynamics, while also nurturing musical intuition. Performance exercises, sight-reading, and ensemble practice help students build confidence in playing for themselves and others.
Through role-playing compositions, exploring different musical styles, and guided practice, students gain both technical mastery and artistic understanding. I provide constructive feedback, celebrate progress, and guide learners through challenges with patience and encouragement.
