About Aurora
I am a linguistic anthropologist, and I am in the process of finishing my Ph.D. thesis at the University of California, Berkeley. I am living in CDMX and I am interested in sharing my knowledge of anthropology, philosophy, and social theory with students here, regardless of their level of study. I started teaching about 6 years ago at the U. of California - they were social anthropology classes for undergraduate students, and I loved developing intellectual relationships with them. I have a degree in anthropology and linguistics from the University of Massachusetts; I also have a certificate in Native American Studies.

My teaching style is based on the idea that knowledge should not be only a privilege of certain social groups; This means that it is very important for me to include everyone in my classes and the conversations they imply. For me, the topics of anthropology and social sciences in general affect everyone, so my way of teaching is adaptable to the person or group that comes, and what is their life story. I like to use that everyone participates verbally in the classes, and that they work with each other also to feel comfortable. In addition, my way of teaching includes different media materials and connect the topics of the class to current world situations.
