About Maria Alejandra
Hi! My name is Maria Alejandra, and I recently graduated in Industrial Engineering after studying in both Colombia and the United States. I’ve always enjoyed helping others understand math because I know these subjects can feel overwhelming sometimes.
I have previous tutoring experience working with students in subjects like algebra, calculus, statistics, and general mathematics. Since I’m also a recent student myself, I understand how stressful exams, homework, and difficult classes can be, so I try to create a comfortable and supportive learning environment where students feel okay asking questions.
Outside of tutoring, I enjoy meeting new people, learning languages, and staying involved in different activities and projects. I’m patient, friendly, and I truly enjoy seeing students become more confident in subjects they once struggled with.

I’m very flexible with the way I teach because I know every student learns differently. Some students prefer step-by-step explanations, others learn better by practicing problems together, and some just need help organizing concepts in a simpler way.
My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to help them feel more confident and less stressed when it comes to math. I like to explain concepts in a simple and practical way instead of making lessons feel intimidating.
I mainly teach algebra, calculus, statistics, and general math for middle school, high school, and college students. Whether you need help preparing for an exam, understanding homework, or improving overall skills, I’d be happy to help!
