About Isabella

I am a first year Biochemistry student at the University of Bath, and at A levels I studied Biology, Chemistry and Psychology, achieving 3 A's. I have tutored for 2 years and have raised a student's results as high as 4 grades in my time tutoring. I was head girl in sixth form and travelled to many primary schools delivering science lessons as well as tutoring both in and out of school. As a student I did not have a natural inclination towards certain subjects such as Maths and Chemistry, however I learnt to look at problems from a different perspective to try and solve them in a way that made sense in my mind, even if it hadn't necessarily been taught like that, and these skills have been translated to tutoring for the best results.

I tutor at GCSE level and below for Biology, Chemistry and English language. I have tutored for 2 years in these subjects and worked with children with autism and dyslexia as well as neurotypical children. I have an enhanced DBS check and have delivered lessons to primary schools for over 2 years. My typical lesson length ranges from 1-2 hours depending on the content needing to be covered. I believe in playing to a child's strengths to try and embed information to their memory, and employ several techniques such as the use of acronyms and short quizzes to see retention of the information taught.
