About Grace
I achieved 12 grade nines in my GCSE exams post Covid and achieved A*AA in my A-levels. I’ve continued on with biology studying at Imperial College London. I want to teach as it’s always been something I’m passionate about and I have tutored GCSE students in the past during my A-levels. I have found that doing a degree gives me a greater insight into these subjects and that I share this well with my students. During my GCSEs and A-levels there were some concepts that I struggled with, but once I found with the right techniques and method of understanding, I turned my least favourite topics into areas I was thrilled to see in my exams, and I will do the same for my students.

My approach to tutoring ensures understanding of your subject before attempting any memorisation as this is the key to succeeding in standardised examinations. I have a strong focus on exam structure and refining your answers to fit highly specific mark schemes, to ensure that my students receive the highest marks. I believe that purely understanding isn’t sufficient to do well in these exams as there are specific structures for your answers that students often overlook, leading them to miss out on marks they otherwise should’ve gotten. I have a strong focus on visual learning talking through problems and applying them in a variety of scenarios to make them memorable and clear! I focus on explanations and teaching in session with some questions to look over before our next session, with exam style walk-through in the sessions themselves.

Grace tutored me in chemistry, biology and physics for GCSE. I found that I struggled with the subjects from year nine and was tutored by her for 1 year. After that, I decided to study biology at A-level despite struggling with it before. She really helped me find that it wasn’t the subject that was a problem and that I really loved it!
