About Lucia
Hi, i'm Lucia!
I graduated in 2015 with a First-Class BSc in Biomedical Science. I'm a second year PhD student in Molecular Biomedicine at Warwick Medical School and I'm currently based in Singapore at the Agency for Science Technology and Research (A*STAR) as part of a two-year placement.
I offer (online) biology tuition from GCSE level (awarded A*A* grades in Biology IGCSE and Double Science Award) through to A-Levels (awarded grade A*) and undergraduate level (First Class). Beyond this I have significant laboratory experience and can help you to understand the exciting, real-world impacts that biologists, biomedical scientists and biochemists have on our biggest healthcare challenges.
With my experience I can not only help you to achieve the grades that you need, but can also provide real guidance for those that wish to pursue biological sciences as a career path. The key to excelling in your biological or biomedical science studies is to have a realistic appreciation of how your knowledge can be applied and work in the real world.
You can expect to be challenged by me as I will push you to your full potential (after all, this is how you achieve top grades no matter your level of study). This will involve me getting to know where your passion lies and curating a body of resources tailored specifically to you that will encourage you to think like a career scientist. Memorization, repetition and regurgitation of information can only get us so far, therefore I will equip you with the tools, techniques and resources to identify your strengths, weaknesses and area of scientific interest. This will help me to create a unique study plan for your course to create a solid knowledge base, fill in the gaps and go beyond your syllabus.
My approach to tuition is warm but meticulous. I will use resources to give you the exact information you need based upon the course/examination body, as well as provide you with materials of my own making that helped me achieve the top grades across every level.
