About Tess

Hi! I’m Tess, a sophomore in the University of Georgia’s Morehead Honors College on the pre-nursing track. My background includes college biology coursework, recognition as an AP Scholar with Distinction, and a Biotechnician Assistant Credential. I also have experience teaching dance and leading a summer daycare, which has taught me how to explain clearly, adapt to different needs, and encourage learners.

I’m patient, organized, and committed to helping students feel comfortable asking questions. Whether you’re studying high school biology, AP Biology, or introductory college biology, I’ll work with you at your pace and come prepared to focus on your goals.

About the lesson

My approach is patient, encouraging, and tailored to each student. I break down complex biology concepts into manageable steps, using diagrams, everyday examples, and practice questions to help students understand rather than just memorize.

A typical lesson starts with a quick review of what you are learning and where you feel stuck. We then work through those topics together, practice applying them, and finish with a recap to check your understanding.

As a UGA Honors student, I understand how overwhelming science classes can feel and can share study strategies that help me learn. I create a comfortable space where you can ask questions and build confidence. My lessons are for middle school, high school, AP Biology, and introductory college biology students, including BIOL 1107 and 1108. I offer help with coursework, understanding concepts, and preparing for class exams or the AP Biology exam.
