About Ahmed
Hi, I’m Ahmed. I am a Biomedical Engineering graduate and currently completing an MSc in Medical Imaging with Management at Bournemouth University. I enjoy helping young people understand science and feel confident explaining what they have learnt.
My teaching experience comes from workshops, mentoring, guest lectures and public speaking. As the founder of the SEMEC university club, I designed and delivered 20 technical workshops for more than 400 students. I have also delivered workshops at the American Cultural Center in Algiers and supported young people through my roles as a Doha Debates Ambassador and Mentor and an EU Jeel Connector. These experiences taught me how to encourage discussion, listen carefully and help students communicate their ideas clearly.
I am also a TEDx speaker and have delivered an international guest lecture at Xi’an Peihua University in China. My healthcare and engineering experience allows me to connect science topics to practical, real-life examples.
I am patient, friendly and encouraging. I understand that every student learns differently, so I adapt my explanations, pace and activities to their needs. My goal is to create a comfortable space where students can ask questions, make mistakes and gradually build their knowledge and confidence.

- Techniques and teaching methodology:
My lessons are friendly, interactive and built around each student’s needs. I do not want science to feel like a long or boring lecture. I explain difficult ideas using simple words, diagrams, everyday examples and short practical activities.
At the beginning, I ask a few questions or use a quick quiz to understand what the student already knows and where they need support. We then work through the topic step by step. During the lesson, students take part through quizzes, problem-solving, discussions and short challenges. I also help them practise explaining scientific ideas clearly, which can improve their confidence in class, presentations and written answers.
- Typical length of a lesson:
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes. It usually includes:
A quick review or quiz
A clear explanation of the topic
Guided questions and activities
Independent practice
Feedback and a short summary
- Qualifications/experience as a tutor:
I am a Biomedical Engineering graduate and currently completing an MSc in Medical Imaging with Management. Through the SEMEC university club, I designed and delivered 20 technical workshops in MATLAB, Arduino, Physics and Medical Technologies for more than 400 students. I have also led workshops at the American Cultural Center in Algiers and supported young people as a Doha Debates Ambassador and Mentor and an EU Jeel Connector. In these sessions, I used Majlis-style dialogue to help participants listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, and express their ideas clearly. I am also a TEDx speaker, which has strengthened my ability to make difficult ideas simple, engaging and easy to remember.
- Who the lessons are for:
My lessons are suitable for secondary-school and GCSE students aged approximately 11–16 who need help with science, revision, presentations or communicating scientific ideas. I adapt the pace and activities to each student, whether they need help understanding the basics, preparing for an assessment or becoming more confident.
