About Cordelia
I am a French and English undergraduate studying Biotechnology in Scotland. I am bilingual in French and English, and I am currently learning Spanish.
I am patient with the people I tutor and I always try to make them as confortable as possible when I teach them, because I know learning a new language can be quite difficult and intimidating. As such, I always remind my students that making mistakes is never something to be ashamed of. On the contrary, they are crucial to the learning process, because then I'll know what to focus on with the student.

My teaching techniques depend on the age and level of the student. With children, I would make the lesson interesting and entertaining by using games. I find that, with this approach, children tend to enjoy my lessons more and to memorise better the vocabulary and basic sentences I teach them. With teenagers and adults, I would first ask their strengths and weaknesses, and then focus on those weaknesses with them. For instance, I'd ask them to translate a sentence, or use a certain expression or tense in a sentence, all while focusing on what their difficulties are.
I have given English lessons to French children and teenagers before, and by using these techniques I have seen them speak English with more and more ease.
My lessons usually last 1 hour, but if the student needs less or more time, I will accomodate them.
