About Samantha
I’m a passionate and experienced music teacher with a strong background in both performance and education. I graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama with a BMus (Hons) in Orchestral Percussion and Timpani and have been teaching music for over a decade.
Alongside 11 years of private instrumental teaching, I have 8 years of classroom experience, working with students of all ages and abilities. I genuinely enjoy helping students build confidence, develop solid technique, and discover the joy of making music.
I’m also an active performer and have played in orchestras, wind bands and brass bands throughout my life. Performing regularly helps me bring practical, real-world experience into my teaching, which I believe is key to inspiring students.

My lessons are tailored to each student and their goals. I teach percussion from beginner to advanced level and drum kit from beginner to intermediate for students aged 6 and up.
My experience teaching in multiple countries has enabled me to adapt lessons to different cultures, interests and learning styles — this is what you can expect when you work with me. The combination of my Diploma in Instrumental Teaching and Postgraduate Certificate in Education allows me to provide lessons that are both structured and flexible, balancing technique, musicianship and enjoyment.
Whether a student is learning purely for fun, preparing for exams or school assessments, or a combination of both, lessons are designed to be engaging, supportive and well-paced.
