About Tessa
Learning a new chord, notating a melody, or writing a captivating chorus can evoke moments of awe and wonder. Every aspiring musician should have access to the tools that help create these moments. Using my Bachelor of Music to become a board certified music therapist (MT-BC) has allowed me to help others tell their story through songwriting. These experiences have shaped creative approaches to music theory application in real time with clients, while performing, and during songwriting. Though music theory and songwriting may have seemingly complicated concepts, I aim to make this content understandable and accessible so that every student feels creatively empowered.

My tutoring style is warm, encouraging, and guided by traditional approaches to understanding fundamental concepts of songwriting and music theory. Sessions flow collaboratively following incremental steps towards goal achievement measured by regular testing, homework, and conversational reflection between student and tutor. Students ages 10-14 will enjoy a judgment-free, creative space to learn and grow with support.
