About Butterfly
Hello! I’m Shashikala, an online tutor with over 7 years of experience teaching children in both academic subjects and Christian education. My journey began through children’s ministry, where I discovered my passion for helping young minds grow not only in knowledge but also in values. I specialize in teaching Sinhala, Science, History, and Christianity to children from Grade 1 to Grade 7. As a teacher, I’m known for being patient, creative, and kind. I believe in building a positive learning environment where children feel confident, supported, and excited to learn. I use interactive methods, storytelling, and practical examples to make every lesson engaging and effective. I teach through Google Meet and Microsoft Teams, and I offer individual classes to give each child my full attention. Whether it’s learning the Bible, understanding science, or improving Sinhala, my goal is to help children learn with joy and grow like a butterfly—beautifully, step by step.

Hello! I’m offering online individual classes for children in Grade 1 to Grade 7. I have 7 years of experience teaching kids, especially in church ministry and Christian education. Subjects I teach: • Sinhala • Science • History • Christianity (Bible stories, Christian values, and character building) ️ Online platforms: • Google Meet • Microsoft Teams ️ Classes are available twice a week, and each session is 1 hour. Teaching Method & Techniques: I use interactive teaching methods that include visuals, real-life examples, storytelling, and creative activities. For Christian lessons, I use Bible stories, songs, memory verses, and character-based discussions to help children connect with God’s word in a joyful way. For academic subjects like Science, History, and Sinhala, I use age-appropriate explanations, illustrations, and regular revision games to keep learning fun and meaningful. Typical Lesson Plan: • Warm-up or short review • Introduction of the topic (with visuals or story) • Interactive learning activity (Q&A, discussion, worksheet, or digital tools) • Short quiz or recap • Encouraging feedback and prayer (for Christian sessions)
