About Douglas
I am a U.S. citizen who has been residing in Sabah for 27 years. My wife is a local, and we have two children. I hold a Ph.D. in Genetics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, U.S.A. Prior to my retirement, I served as the Biotechnology Specialist at the Malaysian Cocoa Board for 14 years, followed by a role as the Director of Innovation R&D at Teck Guan Group, an oil palm plantation and mill company, for 4 years.

For six years, I have been teaching Cambridge IGCSE Biology, Chemistry, and Physics to students in Forms 1 through 5 at a learning center in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Additionally, I have been tutoring students in SPM and Cambridge A-level Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. To achieve my goal of having your child obtain top scores on science exams, I incorporate artificial intelligence (AI), online simulations, YouTube videos, past paper reviews, online quizzes, and personal challenging discussions. That is, I use all available resources for your child to succeed. I strive to make lessons fun and to build confidence, so that your child will look forward to their next lesson. I would be delighted to provide a free online demonstration lesson for your child at your convenience.
