About Shelli
I am a strong proponent of the idea that as teachers we must be students first. I have been a practicing yogi for 6 years and teaching for 2. I came to yoga via my professional dance background about 8 years ago and have been deeply enthralled by Somatics and the power of mind-body-spirit integration since.
In my classes, you can expect clear direction as well as care for your physical, mental, and emotional bodies. As a dance educator with 10+ years of experience, I believe in the power of sound and the way it naturally urges us to move authentically. As such, music, recorded or live, is an important element in my classes. It’s important to me that you feel you’re moving towards success so we’ll set some goals at the beginning of our time together and consistently check in to make sure your progress is both felt and recorded.

Yoga is a mental practice first: take a non-judgmental observer’s stance to your thoughts and allow then to flow instead of tensing with anxiety and hyper-fixation. Next we add or asanas or postures to support this process and build connection between the body, mind, and spirit.
