About Roisin
I am a friendly and enthusiastic tutor with a strong academic background in Economics, Finance, and Mathematics. Having completed my degree in Economics and now pursuing a Master’s in Finance, I combine subject expertise with a clear and supportive teaching style that helps students gain both understanding and confidence. In my lessons (typically an hour long), I break down complex ideas into simple steps, use examples and past exam questions to build familiarity, and always adapt my approach to each student’s needs. My goal is not just to improve grades but to make these subjects engaging and manageable so students feel empowered to succeed. I hope my passion for the subjects inspires the students.

My tutoring style is centered on building a clear conceptual understanding first, and then reinforcing this through worked examples, past exam questions, and problem-solving exercises. I adapt my teaching to each student’s needs — whether they require step-by-step explanations, exam-focused preparation, or deeper exploration of topics for stronger long-term understanding. I also encourage active participation by asking students to explain concepts back to me, ensuring they have truly mastered the material rather than just memorized it. The lessons will typically be one hour but can vary depending on the content being covered or whether there is an upcoming exam. The Economics lessons are directed to Leaving Cert Economics Students at any level. The Math lessons are for Junior Cert math students at any level.
