About Kalam
Hi, I’m Mohammed – a qualified science teacher with a background in neuroscience, and over five years of experience in education and mentoring. I believe that not every mind learns the same way. If you judged every animal by how well it could climb a tree, only a few would succeed — and we’d miss the unique strengths of the rest. That’s why I value one-on-one teaching. It allows me to tailor the learning experience to you, not the other way around — something that’s hard to achieve in a traditional classroom. I was taught from a young age to question things — to understand not just what to learn, but why and how it works. In a world overloaded with information and AI-generated content, that kind of critical thinking is more important than ever. My goal is to help you succeed in your exams, yes — but also to help you build the skills to make sense of the world around you, long after the tests are done. I offer structured, personalised lessons that adapt to your style of learning. Whether you need help breaking down difficult topics, building exam confidence, or staying on top of your subject, I’m here to support you with a thoughtful, focused approach.

My teaching approach is flexible and tailored to each student, but the core of my method is breaking down complex ideas into simple, connected parts. I focus on helping you understand not just what to learn, but why it matters and how it all fits together. I use a mix of teaching styles depending on how you learn best - whether that’s visual aids, videos, guided questioning, or lots of practice. Some students prefer step-by-step walkthroughs, others like tackling questions together — I adapt to what works for you. Lessons are 1 hour and fully tailored to your goals. I can build a structured plan around specific topics you struggle with, or follow a more general subject overview if you’re looking to boost overall confidence. Whether you're preparing for exams or just trying to stay on top of schoolwork, I’m here to support you with a clear, structured, and approachable way of learning. I offer my lessons to students from year 7 up to Sixth Form (IB/A-level).
