About Despina
I am a first-year undergraduate Sociology student in London.
I have been volunteering for the last two years at an NGO, helping refugee children (aged 10-15) with their school homework. Volunteering is what motivated me to study Sociology. Through volunteering, I realised I love teaching and helping people. I want to help and be part of the change for more opportunities in education.

I am a first-year undergraduate. So, I am close to children as I am young and I can communicate with them. I can understand their worries and we can find solutions to problems together.
I usually take the theory from books and create exercises to test the children's knowledge in a fun way. I strongly believe that the point in learning is to understand what you read instead of merely memorising it.
