About Yunconglong
I was born in China in 2001 and began formal art training at 13.
In 2021, I graduated from the Affiliated High School of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, where I built a strong foundation in drawing, oil painting, and design. One of my sculpture works was also selected for the school collection.
In 2026, I graduated from the Sculpture Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, specialising in Concept and Technique. My practice includes clay, wood, stone, metal, ceramics, mixed media, installation, and digital art. My works have been exhibited at venues including Today Art Museum and Aranya Art Center.
I began teaching art in high school and later worked in children’s art education for two years. I now focus on private tutoring for both children and adults, using a non-formulaic approach that encourages curiosity, individuality, and genuine interest in art.

My teaching approach is built around three stages: Observation – Method – Transformation.
I believe observation is the foundation of artistic creation. A good artist learns to notice small, curious details in everyday life, objects, and bodily experience. Different ways of observing also shape different artistic styles. In class, I may ask you to fold paper, shape clay, or build with blocks based on someone’s body, behaviour, or personality, helping you discover subjects that genuinely interest you.
Once you find something that excites you, the next question is how to make it. Can it be fixed with hardware, reshaped, melted, painted, or combined with other materials? Drawing on my experience with mixed-media practice, I will guide you through different techniques and experiments until your artistic form becomes clearer.
Once the subject and method are clear, you will already feel more confident in creating. At this stage, I will encourage you to transform your ideas more boldly. Symbols found in nature might become a piece of calligraphy, while the ageing character of a piece of wood might become a carved figure. And if you simply want to make a good painting or craft, I will be equally happy to share my experience.
Through this process, I hope you will discover that art is much closer to everyday life than it may seem.
Lessons are typically 1–2 hours for children and 2–3 hours for adults. They are suitable for beginners as well as students developing technical skills, portfolios or their own creative direction.
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
We used to be classmates, so I’ve seen him in action plenty of times and I fully connect with his approach to teaching. He is seriously one of the most patient teachers I’ve ever met. No matter what crazy ideas or mood swings a kid throws his way, he stays totally calm and collected—never gets frustrated. He doesn't force kids into a mold; he just gently guides them step-by-step so they can figure out their own creative style. Finding a teacher who really knows how to guide students with that kind of genuine patience is super rare. I highly recommend taking his classes!
