About Ben
I’ve been playing Violin for 10 years and viola for 7. Im studying a major in violin performance at the Melbourne Conservatorium of music and I’ve received my AMusA in violin performance. I have been giving lessons for a year now and I have mentored a few boys in the Strings Department at De La Salle College.

I often base my teaching off the book ‘The ABCs of Violin for the Absolute Beginner.’ This one offers both the advantage of learning technique and pieces at the same time. If not, then ‘Strictly Strings’ is another one I base my teachings off of. This book will help beginners understand technique, and notes before reading staves. Once those books are completed, I like to get my students to start on the AMEB books and start with exams straight away.
