About Emma
I’m Emma, and I help kids discover that reading can actually be fun. We’ll explore stories together, play word games, and find books that make you want to keep turning the pages. I’ve spent years working with kids in classrooms, on field trips, and even in an aquarium (yes, with real fish!). That means I’m pretty good at making learning hands-on and interesting—no boring lessons here. Sometimes my service dog, Toast, hangs out with us during reading time. He’s great at listening and never interrupts, so he makes a perfect reading buddy. If you’ve ever thought reading was “too hard” or “just not your thing,” I can’t wait to show you how fun it can be when it’s done your way.

I believe learning should be engaging, inclusive, and tailored to each child’s unique needs. Drawing from over a decade of experience in early childhood education, I integrate NAEYC best practices with creative, hands-on learning opportunities that make reading both accessible and enjoyable.
I focus on building strong, trusting relationships with students and families, collaborating to set individualized goals that encourage steady progress and confidence. My approach blends structured literacy strategies with real-world connections—whether it’s using stories to spark environmental awareness or incorporating interactive activities that bring words to life.
I also recognize that learning happens beyond the classroom. I provide take-home resources and activities so families can continue supporting reading growth in everyday life. My work with diverse learners, including those with varying developmental needs, has taught me the value of patience, empathy, and adaptability. And yes—sometimes my trained service dog, Toast, joins in to make lessons even more inviting and comforting.
The result is a supportive, engaging environment where children feel safe to take risks, explore new ideas, and discover the joy of reading.
