I make lessons relatable by tying concepts to the experiences of the average American teenager—whether that’s comparing cellular processes to familiar routines or using real-world examples that feel relevant to their lives. This approach helps lower intimidation around challenging material and creates a classroom environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and participating.
A typical lesson begins with a quick, informal review to activate prior knowledge, often using light humor or a relatable scenario to draw students in.
