About Sakila
I'm Sakila — a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE), TEFL-certified instructor, and active educator with the Toronto District School Board, where I've been teaching and supporting students since 2017. I've also been delivering virtual English lessons online since 2019, working with learners across different ages, backgrounds, and skill levels from around the world.
Teaching has always been more than a career for me — it's the work I was built for. I genuinely believe that every learner is capable of more than they think, and my job is to help them see that. I bring patience, warmth, and high expectations into every session because I know that the right combination of support and challenge is what actually moves people forward.
I work with early learners, school-age students, teens, and adults. I specialize in ESL and English language development, early literacy and foundational skills, and K–12 academic support. I'm also fluent in Bengali, which allows me to support Bengali-speaking families navigating English-language learning.
